Session Title CEFR Vs. Assessment: How can new revisions help?

Abstract: What have you done about assessment after a new normal year? Do you concentrate on f2f or online tools or a hybrid? Join us to discuss a new perspective of assessment in teaching English after a long challenging year with new hybrid tools.
Target audience: Experienced and Novice English Teachers
Session objectives: "By the end of this session, participants will have... a. Realized the importance of using hybrid tools for assessment b. Been successful in using technological tools that would help them assess their students’ work more effectively, achieve the curriculum objectives and thus give them a push with learning the language. c. use the new CEFR Companion Volume to assess their students
Syllabus:The session syllabus. Include the major focus for each week and at least one activity or task. You will fill in the details during the training session.
Week 1: (January 10 - 16) Getting acquainted with the attendees. Give them an overview of the whole five weeks and what is the plan of work. Then I will start giving the attendees an overview of the New CEFR revisions and how to use them for assessment. The teachers will be asked to apply what we discussed on a lesson or two for their classes
Week 2: (January 17 - 23) The assignment will be discussed with the attendees. The CEFR assessment templates will be discussed in details. I will apply it practically with the teachers and then ask them to do the same as an assignment for next week.
Week 3: (January 24 - 30) The weekly assignment will be discussed with the attendees. A number of online Speaking tools will be applied practically with the attendees. They will be asked to apply it to their classes for next time. Also 'Cambridge Assessment English' will be explained and applied as well.
Week 4: (January 31 - February 6) The weekly assignment will be discussed with the attendees. Listening and Reading online tools will be applied practically as well. The attendees will be asked to apply it to their classes for next time.
Week 5: (February 7 - 13) The weekly assignment will be discussed with the attendees. Writing online tools will be applied practically as well. The attendees will be asked to apply it to their classes. A wrap up of the whole session will be done and questions will be discussed.
